SAR is a needle in a haystack problem

Search and Rescue (SAR) is often a “needle in a haystack” problem. Quickly finding a person in distress when seconds count is of utmost importance. Drones are a true force multiplier in such scenarios, allowing SAR teams to cover ground quickly and see “through the haystack” as demonstrated in this short video clip captured (Teledyne FLIR SkyRanger R70) during a Sauvetage Bénévole Outaouais – Ottawa Volunteer Search and Rescue (SBO-OVSAR) training exercise.
