ABOUT THE JOB
We are seeking an experienced and mission-driven Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to lead Robotics Centre’s global marketing strategy and execution. This role is responsible for shaping how our products, solutions, and capabilities are positioned across defense, security, and government markets worldwide.
This role is based in Ottawa, Canada, with international collaboration and travel as required.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Define and own the global marketing strategy aligned with Robotics Centre’s mission, products, and long-term growth objectives
- Build and evolve the Robotics Centre brand as a trusted, mission-critical partner in unmanned systems and counter-systems
- Lead product and solution positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies across air, ground, and maritime robotic platforms
- Translate complex technical capabilities into clear, compelling value propositions for defense, government, and enterprise customers
- Oversee marketing communications, digital presence, events, trade shows, and thought leadership initiatives
- Partner closely with sales and business development to support pipeline growth, customer acquisition, and strategic accounts
- Guide market research, competitive intelligence, and customer insights to inform strategic decisions
- Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing marketing team as the organization grows
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 8–12+ years of progressive experience in marketing leadership roles, preferably in defense, aerospace, robotics, or deep-tech sectors
- Proven experience marketing complex, technical products or platforms to government, military, or enterprise customers
- Strong understanding of B2B and government procurement-driven markets
- Demonstrated ability to develop clear messaging and positioning for technically sophisticated audiences
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Strategic mindset with the ability to execute hands-on when needed
- High integrity, resilience, and alignment with Robotics Centre’s mission and values
Canada Salary Range
$140,000 – $185,000 CAD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offers may vary based on (but not limited to) relevant work experience, education and training, critical skills, security clearance eligibility, and business considerations. Performance-based incentives and long-term growth opportunities may be included as part of Robotics Centre’s total compensation package.
