Ontario, Canada – Headquartered in Ottawa, Robotics Centre Inc. is proud to announce that it’s wholly owned subsidiary, Tungsten Collaborative, is receiving advisory services and funding of up to $943,850 from the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP) to support the development of an innovative, high-speed drone manufacturing method and the next generation of advanced drone systems.

This investment, provided through the NRC IRAP Defence Industry Assist (DI Assist) initiative, will allow Tungsten to revolutionize drone production in Canada, enabling the creation of drones up to 100 times faster than current industry standards. With this technology, Tungsten aims to drastically lower manufacturing costs while unlocking new capabilities for drones across both commercial and military applications.

Key project goals include:

  • Developing a patented, scalable drone manufacturing process.
  • Ensuring NDAA compliance and creating drones that are easy for non-specialists to operate.
  • Utilizing AI to optimize both production time and cost.

“Today’s announcement shows how our government is investing to help innovative Canadian companies to advance made-in-Canada defence and dual-use technologies,” said the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions “We are removing barriers for our industry to strengthen supply chains and reinforce Canada’s defence sector to be more competitive globally.”

“We are excited about the opportunity this support provides to accelerate our innovations and transform the drone industry,” said Steve Carkner, CTO at Tungsten Collaborative & Robotics Centre. “This project will enable us to deliver drones that are faster, smarter, and more capable, setting a new benchmark for the industry.”

With an expert team of engineers and AI specialists, Tungsten Collaborative is positioned to meet ambitious milestones over the next few years, with production capabilities scaling drastically by the end of 2026. This project is poised to reshape the future of drone manufacturing and redefine what’s possible in the industry.
